Personable Pals


In 1976, a Douglas-fir seed was planted on the west side of Oregon State University’s campus. Today, it looks like any ordinary Douglas-fir, but it’s special. In 1971, the seed hitched a ride to outer space! The Apollo 14 Moon Tree is just one example of the secrets of OSU, and the subject of the Personable Pals project. The goal of this project was to underscore these lesser-known stories by personifying them. The resulting characters excite and uplift OSU’s student body.
